Behavioral Health Counselor/Group Session Art Therapist
Reports to: Director of Asian American Recovery Services
Qualifications:
- Master Degree and a minimum of one year of job-related experience, with a LMHC, LMSW or LCSW license and a CASAC
- Experience in substance abuse and mental health treatment services preferred
- Bilingual in English/Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) required
- Good oral and written communication skills
Responsibilites:
- Provide assessment and treatment services which include individual, family and group counseling and other support services to patients with substance abuse and problem gambling issues.
- Complete and maintain accurate clinical records and reports regarding the patient’s history and progress, services provided, and other required information.
- Develop and review patients’ treatment plans to comply with changes in client status.
- Intervene as advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Provide patients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services and programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals and other health professionals such as doctors, nurses, and social workers.
- Develop or translate counseling materials from English to Chinese or other Asian language.
- Provide community outreach and educational activities to Asian American community to recruit new patients.
- Able to perform duties on Saturday or evening hours during weekdays when needed.
